This video is an excerpt from some of our videos. This excerpt is a sample of the type of skill demonstrations on the DVD's. How many times have you as a coach or player seen a drill or technique demonstrated but not been able to remember the finer points later? We all have!
The actual DVD's have sharper images and include commentary with music.
Fundamental Skills DVD
Our most popular DVD. The video covers the basic fundamentals of setting, passing, hitting, digging, serving and blocking. It is menu driven allowing the user to select a skill and jump directly to the appropriate section. The DVD is suitable for coaches, players and even parents!
Volleyball Conditioning DVD's
An extended DVD. The first part cover ideas for conditioning using the volleyball court and volleyball related activities. The second half provides the user with numerous ideas for physical conditioning within the home.
Technical Aspects of Serving DVD
This DVD provides technical information on basic overhand serving techniques leading on to jump and jump float serving, also short serving. It is ideal for both the coach, or the athlete wishing to improve and develop a variety of stronger overhand serve techniques.
Systems of Play & Serve Receive Formations
This 20 minute DVD covers systems of play from beginner to advanced, together with serve receive formations and team defensive systems. It is an ideal resource for the beginner to intermediate coach and can also be used to teach players correct positioning in both serve receive formations and defensive systems.
The cost of the Skills DVD is $15, the Conditioning DVD is $20, the Systems of Play is $15 and the Technical Aspects of Serving DVD is $10. This program is designed for students ages 16 to 18 years who are interested in learning the fundamentals of coaching. Whether you plan on coaching as a profession after college or you just like working with children and love the sport of volleyball, this is the perfect opportunity for you to get started.
With the Junior Coaching Program you will learn and develop how to teach many skills, such as:
- Underarm passing
- Overhand passing and specialist setting
- Hitting
- Blocking
- Serving
- Defensive techniques
- Teach fundamental footwork
- The importance of a healthy body (Diet, exercise, mental health)
- Developing an offence
- Dealing with differing personalities
- How to motivate and educate
- Mental preparation
- Record keeping
- Dealing with parents
- Stressful situations
- How to run an effective practice
- The list goes on and on!
The Junior Coaches Program emphasis will be on learning fundamentally sound coaching techniques that are needed to be a well rounded volleyball educator.
Junior coaches will serve a two month apprenticeship with an experienced coach where they will be expected to learn in a classroom and practical setting. Junior coaches will gain experience through assisting and coaching, practices and games throughout this apprenticeship.
